Product Details

We have developed this 3D printed part for the APEX M800 Keycaps clipping system as the original pieces usually get broken and there are no official spare parts.

You can choose to purchase 5x 15x or 55x units of the clipping system.

DISCLAIMER:

The parts need to be glued to the back side of your keycap.

The keycap is not included, we offer you a repair set for your keycap.

We are not responsible of the final result/alignment of the keycap

Repairing guide

1. Remove the remaining broken parts of the original clipping system. You can help yourself with a cutting pliers, an exacter knife, a cutter, a chisel or any sharp tool or rotary tools like Dremel.

2. Flatten the back of the keycap surface by light sanding.

3. Position the clipping system at the back side of the keycap parallel to the walls and centered. The position does matter, the clips/protrusions are meant to be at the sides of the keycap. Make sure that there is no gaps between the clipping system and the keycap.
If the clipping system does not lay flat on the back of the keycap or pivots on any of the edges please go back to point 2, otherwise move forward to point 4.

4. Now glue the clips to the back of your keycap. For gluing you can use any cyanoacrylate or impact glue.

4.1 Use a very small amount of glue, as an overfill could cause a malfunction of the keyboard. To apply the glue we recommend to use a chopstick. In case of glue overfill, let it dry and then remove it by sanding or using an ice pick or similar.

4.2 Let the glue dry. The mechanism is tiny and you can end up with all the keycap joined to the keyboard permanently.

4.3 We recommend to use transparent glues, because if you spill glue on the center of the keycap the light of the LEDs will still be visible.
